To my loyal followers: you can see I am on a bit of a chair kick. It is really overwhelming how many wonderful chair designs are being released. It is also really wonderful how most of them look like chairs you could ACTUALLY be comfortable sitting in despite its material and tendency to defy gravity. The great minds of today are building on the classic chairs of yesterday, that have stood the test of time, to add a layer of futuristic technology through the study of ergonomics and current trends. A quote from Gam Fratesi’s website shows this dedication to the learning process, “parallel to our shape studies a process occurred with material research in order to find the right material to forward these shapes and to perform a chair with this paperthin and simple expression.”
I love the form of this chair by Gam Fratesi called 3mm. A 3mm Ultrathin aluminum sheet on a shell.
